Because Success Means Nothing If We Don’t Share It

At Nexus Box™, our mission goes beyond building great technology—we’re committed to building a better world. Giving back is woven into the fabric of our company culture, from supporting local communities and nonprofits to empowering underserved families and veterans. We believe that real success is measured not just in profits, but in the positive impact we create. Whether it’s donating time, resources, or expertise, we’re dedicated to using our growth to lift others up.

Annual Holiday Toys FOr Tos Donations

Each year, Nexus Box proudly donates approximately $2,000 worth of toys to the Toys for Tots program—helping bring joy to children and families during the holiday season. One of the most rewarding parts of this tradition is taking time as a team to go shopping for the toys ourselves. From dolls and action figures to bikes and games, we make it a fun and meaningful experience—knowing each gift will light up a child’s face. It’s a reminder that giving back can be just as joyful as receiving, and that even small acts can make a big impact.

hurricane relief donations

In recent years, as devastating hurricanes and natural disasters have impacted communities across the U.S., Nexus Box has stepped in to help. We’ve worked quickly to coordinate and contribute large donations of water, non-perishable food, and essential supplies—making sure they reach the people who need them most. From organizing logistics to partnering with local responders, our goal is always the same: to provide real help, not just gestures, in moments when it matters most. Giving back during crisis isn’t charity—it’s responsibility, and we’re proud to do our part.

Supporting Silent Guardian

With the steady decline in federal support for disaster relief efforts, grassroots organizations like Silent Guardian have become more vital than ever. Nexus Box is proud to support their mission by donating our web development services to build their official website. As a newly established 501(c)(3), Silent Guardian is dedicated to helping individuals and communities during times of crisis. By creating a digital platform for them to raise awareness, coordinate aid, and accept donations, we’re honored to play a part in equipping them with the tools they need to expand their impact and serve those in need more effectively.

Why we support The DTRF Mission

In 2018, our CEO, Michael Savino, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer known as a desmoid tumor—a type of sarcoma with limited awareness and even fewer treatment options. The Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation (DTRF) became a lifeline during that time, providing critical knowledge, guidance, and hope through years of surgeries, cryoablations, chemotherapy, radiation, and extensive physical therapy. Their support helped Michael get through the darkest chapters of his life, and today, he is proud to be three years in remission. In a personal effort to give back, Michael has donated tumor tissue to the foundation to aid in research and help pave the way for better treatments—and ultimately, a cure. At Nexus Box, we stand by DTRF in every way we can, and we encourage others to support their incredible mission. Please consider donating to help those still fighting.

Shining Hope In The Battle Against Desmoid Tumors

Since its inception in 2005, the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation (DTRF) has been helping improve the lives of patients and their loved ones in the battle against the as yet incurable Desmoid tumor.

Aside from providing education, awareness, and support, the foundation spearheads various programs in the hopes of ultimately finding a cure for this rare disease. The DTRF is also actively involved in advocacy groups and the medical community at large as a member of the Sarcoma Coalition, National Organization of Rare Diseases (NORD), and My Pediatric and Adult Rare Tumor (MyPART).

Quick Facts About Desmoid Tumors

What is a Desmoid Tumor?

Also known as aggressive fibromatosis, Desmoid tumors are caused when fibroblasts, which are naturally found in our bodies and are involved with the process of wound healing, behave abnormally. This causes growths not unlike excessive scars, even without a wound to trigger the process. It can affect both internal and external parts of the body and may become life-threatening in cases where vital organs are compressed by the growth.

History of Giving Back

Giving back has always been at the heart of who we are—not just as a company, but as individuals. Long before Nexus Box was formed, our founders were already deeply involved in charitable work. In 2006, following the tragic loss of Allison M. Savino’s father in a bicycle accident, we established a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in his honor to raise awareness for bicycle safety in New Jersey. Through this foundation, we were able to raise tens of thousands of dollars that went directly toward supporting local rescue squads, fire departments, and police departments. One of the most impactful parts of that work was purchasing and donating thousands of bicycle helmets to children and families across the community. It wasn’t just about the money—it was about making a difference, saving lives, and turning tragedy into purpose. Though the foundation officially closed in 2012, its legacy lives on in everything we do at Nexus Box. That experience shaped our outlook on business and philanthropy, and it reinforced a core belief that drives us to this day: when you have the ability to help, you should.

That foundational belief continues to guide our actions today. Whether it’s donating toys to children during the holidays through Toys for Tots, organizing hurricane relief supply drops, donating web development services to mission-driven nonprofits like Silent Guardian, or supporting groundbreaking cancer research through the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation, we always look for ways to use our skills, resources, and platform to give back. These efforts aren’t part of a marketing campaign—they’re part of our identity. We’ve seen firsthand how much of an impact one person or one organization can make when driven by purpose. At Nexus Box, we believe that success means nothing if it isn’t shared, and we remain committed to lifting others up wherever and whenever we can. Giving back isn’t an occasional effort—it’s embedded in the DNA of our leadership, our team, and the way we build our business.
